Can Gönül, who grew up orphaned in an orphanage in Izmit and claimed to have learned that he was the brother of national football player Gökhan Gönül while watching a football match, was told by his colleagues at the artisan restaurant where he worked in 2012. He told us that he was going to leave the orphanage. We took care of him for about a year in 2012. We worked together. We supported each other. We were very surprised to see him on TV, we were very happy. He learned that he has a family. He quit his job here, saying that he was going to join the military. He was a hard worker, he helped us a lot, we worked together like brothers and sisters, and then he left here.”
